Dear Friends,
People waiting in lineThe month of November literally blew in like a hurricane. On November 5th, Hurricane Eta hit the northern part of the country of Honduras. Most of the damage was along the northern coast of Honduras, but there was also massive flooding in other areas of Honduras. Thousands of people lost their homes, and many lost their lives Thankfully, since I’m in the mountains of southern Honduras, we only received some light rain. Several of our seminary students’ homes were flooded, but their houses stayed standing and their families had been able to evacuate in time. Two weeks later, Hurricane Iota took the exact same path across Honduras. This time, the damage was worse since most areas had not yet recovered from the first hurricane. But once again, God protected our region. Our church was able to take up an offering which we sent to other ministries in the North that were helping with the recovery efforts. They provided food, clothes, and shared the Gospel with many people during this time.

The school year has continued to be a challenge. But thankfully, I was able to take a break and go home for Christmas. I was able to spend four restful weeks with my family. I thoroughly enjoyed the time at home, especially since I had not been able to go home during the summer. However, as always, the time flew by too quickly. On Saturday, January 2, I was off to Honduras again, but got delayed by another adventure. I was able to board my first flight that evening with no problem. They approved my COVID test results and sent me on to Miami where I had an overnight layover. However, the next morning when I tried to check in, I was told that my particular form was not accepted, and they didn’t understand how I got on my first plane without a problem. They apparently used to accept that form but changed their policy. I was told that I would have to go get another test done before I could continue. They put me up in a hotel for the night, and I would be on standby for the rest of the week since all flights to Honduras were full. So, I rented a car and went searching through Miami for a COVID testing site that would allow me to take the test and have same day results. Thankfully, I found
a place. The wait was several hours, but I managed to watch my home church service online while I waited. It was an encouraging and timely message entitled “Consider the Lilies.” It reminded me that God cares and is in control. Thankfully, everything else went smoothly, and I was able to get checked in the next day without a problem and get on a flight due to someone else canceling. It was an exhausting trip, but I made it!

I am so thankful for all of you! Thank you for your love and support. I am thankful for all the messages I received during the hurricanes, checking in to make sure I was okay. I truly appreciate all the prayers.
