Dear Friends,

This school year, we have over 200 students in our bilingual school. Thankfully, we have several new teachers to help share the load. It is a blessing to have more help! I am once again in charge of the combined eighth and ninth grade class. I do teach one grammar/spelling/literature class to seventh grade and one grammar/spelling class to sixth grade. However, I spend most of my day teaching eighth and ninth grade. This year, I have a total of twenty students in this combined class. Please pray for their spiritual lives. I know for a fact that at least two are unsaved. Of those who claim to be saved, very few of those attend church on a regular basis. Please pray that I can be a good influence on their lives. Please pray for the salvation of my unsaved students.

I also ask that you pray for one of our assistant pastors. His name is Moises Zelaya. His wife and I are very close friends. Moises has been having a lot of health problems lately with symptoms similar to Leukemia. He has gone to the doctor many times, and they have ruled out several things including Leukemia. However, the doctors still don’t know exactly what it is. The medicine they have him taking to treat his symptoms has had a lot of bad side effects that are making things very difficult for him and his family. Please pray that God will heal him.

I also want to thank all the churches this summer for their donations. Everyone was very generous! Every August when I get back from the USA, I make goodie bags for my bus route and for my students from special things that I bring back with me. This year, two churches specifically gave to help me with this project. I gave each child a bag with a beanie baby, pencils, pens, erasers, American candy, and other miscellaneous items. I was also able to have a surprise on each student’s desk for the first week of school. For the month of September, I also had a Bible memorization competition for my Sunday school class. The winning teenage girl received her very own Bible for memorizing the most Bible verses. She was very excited!

Thank you for your kindness and your generosity. I am truly grateful for all who support me through giving and through prayers.
