Dear Friends,
In Philippians 1:3, the Apostle Paul says, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you…” I want to express my gratitude for everything you do for me. I am overwhelmed by your generosity. You sacrifice so much so that I can be here in Honduras, serving the Lord. You may never get the chance to meet my students, my Sunday school girls, or the ones that come on my bus route. But one day in heaven, you will be able to see the rewards of your sacrifice.
In the past few months, I have been able to grow closer to my students and the teens on my bus route since I have started trying to have them over to my house once a month. I’ve started combining the two groups with the hope that they will be able to get to know one another. I want them to be able to relate to each other and be able to see a friendly face when they get to church. I want them to know that they are not alone. So far, the girls have really seemed to enjoy our meetings and are always asking me when our next meeting will be. I have also really enjoyed being able to share with the girls in a way that I can’t on Sundays or during the school day.
Every Sunday of the month of November, one of our bus routes represents a country. This year, my bus route was assigned the country of Mozambique. We dress up in cultural dress, sing a song, do a drama, and give out food. It’s one of my favorite months since we get to focus on missions. The drama that my team presented really touched my heart. It reminded me that there are many people involved in a missionary’s work. Some plant, some sow, but God gives the increase.
In January, we were able to have a Bible camp for teens all around Honduras. We had over 200 teens at our camp this year! A few were saved, and some surrendered their lives to do whatever God directs them to do. What a privilege to be a part of such a work! We’ve had many visitors in our church over the last few weeks, as well as several saved, and a baptism almost every Sunday. I talked to one lady and her daughter on evangelism one day, and a few days later, she and her daughter visited our church. They have come twice since then!
Please continue to pray for the salvation of my students and for those on my bus route. Please pray that I can make a difference in their lives.
Sincerely,
Ericka Wright
